Emergency and Health
The entire county is policed by the RCMP.
Vulcan and District EMS is a 24 hour Advanced Life Support ambulance service, staffed by knowledgeable people who have devoted their life to on-the-spot emergency care. Each community in Vulcan County is fortunate enough to house a volunteer fire department. All departments are complimented with 24 hour first response service that can respond to critical situations while the ambulance is on its way.
The Vulcan Regional Health Center is a full time emergency-ready hospital. It is an 8 bed active facility with 15 long term beds, D-level radiology area, fully equipped lab and a modern emergency area. The Hospital is also home to a public health center and family medical clinic.
Other medical services include chiropractors, optometrist, podiatrist, hearing aid service, massage therapist, occupational therapist, mental health worker, social worker and palliative care.
Vulcan Regional Victim Services provides information, support and referral to victims of crime.
