The Blackspring Ridge Wind Project is now connected to the Alberta grid.
The wind farm will provide 300MW of clean renewable energy to the province, enough to power the equivalent of 120,000 homes, said a project update from the two project owners, EDF Canada and Enbridge.
The operations and maintenance building is now complete and ready for operation.
Work to restore the native prairie grasses and fields began at the end of April and will be completed over the course of the next few months. It is anticipated over 30 equipment operators and labourers will be onsite to complete the restoration work.
Real-time project production is available online, through Alberta Electric Systems Operator (AESO).
